Olafur Eliasson Exhibition

Posters for an exhibition developed without utilizing images of the artist or their work

Olafur Eliasson is primarily known for his large installations. He often controls things like temperature, humidity, and audio in addition to traditional artistic elements to create immersive environments. While only one poster was required, I was interested in both of the concepts I developed and wanted to move forward with both. The final posters both emphasis different aspects of Eliasson’s work.

With every project, there are infinite possibilities. By continuing with both of these concepts, I learned not to give up on an idea if I still see potential. The first poster highlights visual elements often utilized by Eliasson: rooms with white walls, open doorways, and projections of colored light. The second is more conceptual, focusing instead on Eliasson’s interdisciplinary approach to art. He often collaborates with other artists, but also with architects, carpenters, and electricians. Both posters represent Eliasson’s work in different ways, and I am proud of the results.
