Prototype of a box that will protect, display, and elevate a fragile product
For this project, I had to develop both branding for the product and the actual box. I went with the name Qualia, which is a psychological and philosophical term referring to things we all perceive via our five senses, but cannot convey the specifics of to others because of their subjective nature. The taste of wine is often referred to as a form of qualia.
As for the box design, the goal was to highlight the product while also protecting it. I incorporated windows on either side to allow light to play off the surface of the product, as well as a false bottom to provide stability and protection. I chose to design packaging that opens more like a jewelry box in order to elevate the product and add interest.
